Saturday saw the second Family Fun day held at the football club and it was a massive success all round. The atmosphere from start to finish was fantastic, there was a real feel good factor in the air.
The day began with the players and the management staff holding a public training session the new Alexandra Stadium pitch.
The fans then got to meet all the players and manager David Artell during a autograph signing session in the Carlsberg Lounge.
On offer were a selection of new match day pies from Chase Farm along with free ice cream from Sponsor Whitby Morrison served up by Ed Whitby himself!
There was also entertainment on offer such as balloon modelling, face painting and a magic show. All of this was laid on free of charge, a great gesture by the club and sponsors.
It was then time to put the players into the stocks, all for charity of course. Players lined up to take it in turns to have wet sponges thrown at them by eager fans.
Not wanting to miss out on the action Manager David Artell even took his turn to face down a wet sponge. The manager will be hoping his strikers fare better when the season starts as some shots were sadly way off target.
The club deserves huge praise for putting on what was a fantastic day. The staff, directors, volunteers, sponsors and all the players took the time meet the fans and make the day the huge success.
It has also been fantastic to see such a good response from the fans praising the club for putting the day on.
I am sure everyone is looking forward to next years event.
